IAIL

The International Association of Investigative Locksmiths (IAIL) are a group of locksmiths, police officers, insurance investigators and other security professionals, with an interest in the benefits of investigative locksmithing to the community as a whole. We are involved in developing this profession, learning as much as we can about this field and helping to share that knowledge with others of a like mind. IAIL members come from all over the world. The seed for this organization came about as a result of the untiring work of several people over the years. We believe in cooperation between the investigative agencies and the technical personnel, i.e. locksmiths and security professionals; and through that cooperation, providing a service to the law-abiding community. We feel that the Investigative Locksmith can offer a service to the community at large and to the law enforcement professionals in particular. A service that, at present is being offered only sporadically, and sometimes in a less than professional manner. We are committed, as Investigative Locksmiths, to offer technical, professional advice, council and investigative services to the community, insurance companies, and law enforcement officials. We have recognized the need for an organized and professional group of technicians who can work together to enhance each others professional knowledge and techniques. We are dedicated to establishing guidelines and certification procedures to identify those who have demonstrated the ability, trustworthiness and dependability to be known by the title of Investigative Locksmith.
